Here at The Equine Practice we occasionally have cases that require more intensive medical treatment. This may be in the form of regular antimicrobial therapy, or application of medications, aggressive fluid therapy, regular bandage changes and close monitoring of the patient. Some cases are best treated in a hospital environment in which case there are two places that we may refer you to.

 

The Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital or South Eastern Equine Hospital. Common cases that we may refer are colics, severe diarrhoea, or conditions that may require treatment in a sterile field or require major surgery. The majority of medical cases can be treated in the field and in most cases it is a combined effort between the vets and the owners to effectively and adequately treat these challenging cases and monitor their progress. We are available 24 hours a day to discuss progress with you and to treat or check up when necessary.
